Jean Montero, selected in the 2025-26 All-EuroLeague First Team

Valencia Basket guard Jean Montero has been selected to the 2025–26 All-EuroLeague First Team, becoming the first player in our club’s history to receive this honor. The “taronja” player shares this distinction with Sylvain Francisco, Elijah Bryant, Sasha Vezenkov and Nikola Milutinov.

Two days ago, the Dominican guard was also named the “Rising Star” of Europe’s top competition for the 2025–26 season, becoming the first player from the American continent to achieve this and the first to win this award in both the EuroCup and the EuroLeague.

This selection marks only the second time Valencia Basket has been represented in the All-EuroLeague teams: the only previous instance was Dusko Savanovic’s inclusion in the Second Team in the 2010–11 season.

The votes are in and the five players who best defined the 2025–26 EuroLeague Regular Season have been selected to the All-EuroLeague First Team. Chosen through a combined vote of head coaches (35%), team captains (35%), media (20%) and fans (10%). The five players with the most accumulated percentage adding all four categories' votes are selected to the 2025–26 All-EuroLeague First Team. Among those five, the player with the highest overall percentage will be named the season’s MVP.

In his first EuroLeague season, Jean Montero has led Valencia Basket in scoring (13.7 points), assists (4.6), and performance index rating (16.4). Across the competition as a whole, he narrowly missed the top ten in performance index rating (finishing 11th), although when looking at per-40-minute statistics, Montero ranks seventh in rating (30).
